Scotland's Lib Dem MSPs campaigning for Fred Mackintosh in Edinburgh South

Just 405 votes separate Labour and the Liberal Democrats in Edinburgh South (photography: Fred Mackintosh)

The Liberal Democrat MSPs were out and about in Morningside calling on local people with Westminster candidate Fred Mackintosh on Tuesday evening.

Liberal Democrat Leader Tavish Scott said: "With just 405 votes between Labour and the Lib Dems in this seat we are fighting to win in Edinburgh South. Fred Mackintosh will be an outstanding voice for local people.

"I look forward to campaigning with him many times between now and the election."

Commenting, Mr. Mackintosh said: "I was delighted to be joined by the Liberal Democrat MSPs in Morningside. Four fifths of Edinburgh South is also in Mike Pringle's constituency for the Scottish Parliament and the response on the doorsteps has been very encouraging.

"I am very confident that with the hard work of Mike and the other MSPs we will win here at the General Election. Without the personal vote for Nigel Griffiths, Labour will find it very difficult to hold on here."
