Commenting on the news that Lloyds TSB are expected to axe 625 jobs, many of which are expected to be in Edinburgh, Mike Pringle MSP said "Ever since the HBOS Lloyds merger was announced the Liberal Democrats have been predicting job losses, but this is devastating news for Edinburgh.

"A great number of people across the city are employed in the financial services industry and many staff are rightly worried about their future. Lloyds need to end the uncertainty and spell out how many job losses are expected in Edinburgh. This will allow people at risk to plan for the future and action to be taken through to support them as they try to find jobs elsewhere."
