George Lyon

The Liberal Democrats currently hold one of Scotland's seven European Parliament seats. Elspeth Attwooll was re-elected fifth out of seven at the last European Parliament elections in 2004. Elspeth is not standing again for the European Parliament and in 2007 Scottish Liberal Democrat members selected former MSP and Scottish NFU President George Lyon to head their European list.

In 2004 the Liberal Democrats polled more votes than any party in the Edinburgh South Constituency as part of the 2004 European Parliament Elections.
