South Edinburgh Post Office Surveys flooding in7.13.38pm BST (GMT +0100) Fri 5th Oct 2007 Save Our Post Offices campaigners have welcomed the large numbers of Post Office Users Surveys sent in by South Edinburgh residents in response to Fred Mackintosh's Save Our Post Office Campaign. Fred Mackintosh has been busy finding out the views of local people about their Post Office service. "Hundreds of people have taken the time to tell us the what the impact of a post office closure would be on their community and more and more flood in every day" he said. Labour Ministers have told Post Office Limited to close 2500 post offices across Britain. "The government's plans do not guarantee the future of any post office. They are managing the network's decline, not saving it" continued Fred Mackintosh "The Liberal Democrats are the only party with a plan to save the Post Office." Details of which post offices will close in Edinburgh South will be published in July and Fred Mackintosh and the Post Office campaigners want to have evidence of the needs of local people to back up their campaigns to protect and enhance the local post office services.
