Ld Poll Boost

The latest opinion poll confirms that support for the Scottish Liberal Democrats is growing all across Scotland. The polls shows Liberal Democrats are set to gain more seats. It also shows a 10 per cent swing against independence in the past four months.

Commenting on the results, Convener of the Scottish Liberal Democrats Parliamentary Party, Euan Robson MSP, said:

"The Liberal Democrats are going from strength to strength in the opinion polls.

"All across Scotland traditional voting patterns are breaking down and people are moving to the Liberal Democrats in ever increasing numbers."

Mr Robson also commented on the news that the SNP has registered 12 party descriptions, many of which use Alex Salmond's name. The descriptions can be printed on the ballot papers for the 2007 election.

"As poll results show public support for independence waning, the SNP have had to resort to desperate measures. This latest election gimmick, the Alex Salmond brand, will not convince the Scottish public to vote SNP.

"Politics is about more than personalities."
