Fred Mackintosh - for real change in Edinburgh South
Welcome to the website of Fred Mackintosh and the Liberal Democrat team in Edinburgh South. We hope you find the site useful. Please contact us with any comments or requests for more information.
As we speak to residents across south Edinburgh it is very clear that people are very angry. The demand for reform of our political system has never been stronger. The Liberal Democrats have always campaigned for reform to take power away from the centre, the elites and the government. Click on the image to the right to find out our plans.
Edinburgh South is represented in the Scottish Parliament by Mike Pringle MSP. The Liberal Democrat Westminster Parliamentary Spokesman for Edinburgh South is Fred Mackintosh.
The re-election of Mike Pringle as local MSP on 3rd May 2007 confirms that the Edinburgh South Westminster Constituency is a clear contest between local resident Fred Mackintosh and the sitting Labour MP.
During March 2009 senior sources in the Labour party in Edinburgh South were reported in the press as describing the Liberal Democrats as being in "pole position" for the General Election. With just 405 votes separating Fred Mackintosh from the Labour incumbent the choice for those who want change is clear.

Speaking after the official declaration of the European Election results at Edinburgh's Mercat Cross, Scotland's new Liberal Democrat MEP George Lyon said, "It is an honour to be elected. As Scotland's liberal voice in Europe my overriding priority will be to bring the jobs and investment that Scotland needs.
