Pringle Backs Parent Consortium in Bid to Halt School Closure

Mike Pringle MSP has backed a parent led consortium bidding to halt the closure of St. Margarets School in a move that has secured the backing of teachers and pupils. The parents are hoping to raise £2 million to secure the future of the school.

Victory for Liberal Democrats as ID cards to be scrapped within 100 days

The Coalition Government today announced that ID cards are to be scrapped for British citizens within 100 days. The Liberal Democrats have campaigned against the introduction of ID cards since they were first announced by the previous Labour Government.

James Gillespie's High School Renewal Project Under Way

Work has started on the design phase for the renewal of James Gillespie's High School and the plans are already shaping up to be very exciting. However before work can being it must be decided where pupils displaced by the building work are to study during the construction period.

New Council Houses for Gracemount approved by Councillors

Mon 24th May 2010

Members of Council's Development Management Sub-Committee have given approval for the final planning application for the first construction phase of the 21st Century Homes project in South Edinburgh. Permission was given for the first 99 homes to be built all of which will be affordable with 67 council homes for rent, 20 for mid rent and 12 for low cost home ownership.
